A decade of work = 3 different groups : "Traps and Lures", "Tarpapers (aka Modern Art)" and "Felt Wraps" + their subgroups
"Traps and Lures" are welded steel rod and flat bar structures that are cut up, re-configured and re-welded. Color is limited: rust , lacquered steel and black spray paint. "Traps" are inspired by lures, booby traps and snares and symbolize varieties of human relationships.

"Tarpapers (aka Modern Art)" are cut, glued and stitched. Tarpaper is construction vapor barrier and is impregnated with tar. It stinks of creosote and is a little nauseating to work but it merges sight with smell. They're 'modern' because they're loosely based on abstract expressionist brushwork.

The "Felt Wraps" use synthetic felt from stolen moving blankets and foam undercarpet padding. They are studded with various kinds of plastic screening, sewn-on pom-poms and little art deco curls of tar paper. The different colors that streak through the felt and foam chips are very Jackson Pollock, little stripes and chips instead of drips.

Their subgroups spin around materials and phenomena; rubber, wheels, reflections off steel, scratches on paper, rust.
